NEW YORK: People is searching for a new head of PR. The outgoing director of public affairs, Susan Ollinick, will stay with Time as VP of communications for its parenting group. Meanwhile, the company is casting a wide net for a replacement.

Peter Costiglio, Time's VP of corporate communications, said the company hasn't narrowed the field. "It's early on in the whole search," he said.

Ollinick, who's been at People for almost nine years, said she's looking forward to the challenges of working with a group that includes Parenting, Baby Talk, and First Moments.

While praising the current communications staff at Time, Ollinick said someone with experience was needed for an anticipated "growth phase."

"It's a big, varied operation, and I'm really excited," said the veteran of Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone. "It's going to really broaden my scope."
