TOY BOX: GN Netcom is the right call for your cell

I went nuts last Christmas looking for a headset to use with my cell. It's hard to settle, I admit. Most of them are truly expensive crud.

I went nuts last Christmas looking for a headset to use with my cell. It's hard to settle, I admit. Most of them are truly expensive crud.

Now I'm happy to say that I've finally found the perfect fit. It's on sale at HelloDirect.com, which is the easiest online catalog, and it makes for super cool browsing. ("Yeah, I want that too" is often heard.) Called the GN Netcom M200 Cell Convertible Headset, this is a great-looking wonder, which uses that much-hyped "noise canceling" technology to grant the "callee" your voice without background noise. Look, for $19 - down from $50 [product 6589] - how can you go wrong? It has a flex ear hook, but you can also wear it over your head. (You won't.) Meanwhile, I tried the $14 wireless headset sold at all Best Buy and Circuit City outlets. The thing worked when the mood struck it. Nice try, but no cigar. Any questions? toybox@rlmPR.com
  • Richard Laermer is author of the just-released Full Frontal PR (www.fullfrontalpr.com) and CEO of RLM Public Relations (www.rlmPR.com). ----- Price $19 for the GN Netcom M200 Cell Convertible Headset Cool Factor GN Netcom fits all phones. It's quite democratic and hardly picky - good for our times. The piece has strictly limited quantities, and I like that idea. The 2.5mm headset jack is also light on the head
