SAN FRANCISCO: Euro RSCG Middleberg's Bay Area office is reopening this month, more than a year after closing in late 2001.

"It was open for about a year," said chairman and CEO Don Middleberg.

"It was a tech-driven office. It grew from nothing to 16 people. And as quickly as we rose, we dropped just as fast."

But with new clients such as Mirapoint, an internet messaging software and hardware company in Silicon Valley, Middleberg decided to reopen the office. This time, however, it will focus on all of the firm's practices, not just technology.

SVP Matt Wolfram will serve as acting GM, and will spend about one-third of his time on the West Coast. Lisa Byrne, who just joined the firm as a VP, will be one of two people in the San Francisco office. Middleberg will share office space with ad agency Euro RSCG MVBMS.
