Cox hires Jimenez as new director of corporate comms

ATLANTA: Cox Enterprises has named Robert Jimenez its director of corporate communications. The move is effective August 18.

ATLANTA: Cox Enterprises has named Robert Jimenez its director of corporate communications. The move is effective August 18.

In his new position, Jimenez will report to Tim Hughes, SVP for administration, and will oversee internal communications for the company's 77,000 employees. He will also serve as head of external communications, media, and PR for the media giant.

Cox Enterprises is a Fortune 500 company with 2002 revenues of $9.9 billion and major operating subsidiaries that include Cox Television, Cox Radio, Cox Newspapers, Manheim Auctions, and Cox Communications.

Jimenez is joining Cox Enterprises from the Church's Chicken chain of restaurants, a division of AFC Enterprises.

At Church's, he was director of global communications and international marketing. According to Jimenez, a search is currently underway to fill his old position.

Before joining AFC, Jimenez held various positions performing internal relations, crisis communications, and reputation management for the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.
