SEATTLE and LOS ANGELES: Edelman has named Patrick McGuire and Gail Becker co-presidents of Edelman's Western region. Harry Pforzheimer previously held the position, and is now an EVP with Ruder Finn/Switzer.

McGuire, GM of the Seattle office, and Becker, GM of the Los Angeles office, will be responsible for growth in the Western region, which also includes offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Portland, OR, and Sacramento. Edelman's clients in the Western region include Apple, Baskin-Robbins, Microsoft, Nissan, Starbucks, The Gap, and the Motion Picture Association of America.

Becker said she sees growth potential in technology, particularly with digital entertainment and digital rights management.

"There is this preconceived notion that the West Coast is not as important when it comes to business development," added Becker. "But the West Coast is quite significant to Edelman."
