JIWIRE targets wide audience in PR effort

SAN FRANCISCO: With mobile technology becoming one of the fastest growing tech markets, the time is right for a one-stop resource on all mobile information.

And JIWIRE is striving to be just that, a website with everything from mobile news and reviews, to a wi-fi yellow pages that lists 18,753 "hot spots" in 46 countries. The site is aggressively reaching out to everyone from bloggers and tech and business media, to forming partnerships with consumer-facing websites such as Yahoo and CNET.

"We want to help make sense of wireless and wi-fi for consumers," said Kevin McKenzie, president and CEO of JIWIRE, which is working with its AOR Neale-May & Partners on PR. "The frustration I hear from consumers is that there's a lot of talk about hot spots, but nobody is really sure how to access them. We want to help consumers understand this technology, and what it can do for them."

JIWIRE also hopes to attract companies with a stake in the wireless market, who will ideally see it as an invaluable resource for information about their companies and products.
