SUNNYVALE, CA: Fujitsu Computer Systems has picked Maples Communications as its US AOR, a month after the division was formed by the merger of Fujitsu PC and Fujitsu Technology Solutions.

The new division, which offers advanced computer systems and managed services for companies, decided between Maples, which previously worked with Fujitsu PC, and Neale-May & Partners, which worked with Fujitsu Technology Solutions.

"PR is incredibly important to us," said Megan O'Neil, director of marketing communications at Fujitsu Computer Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu. "We compete with companies like Dell, and we can't compete with them on an advertising basis. And even though we have a smaller budget than our competitors, I personally believe PR is a very effective mechanism, regardless of budget size."
