TOY BOX: You'll want to move fast to get S.L.O.W

RadioShack's shot at capitalizing on the craze associated with the big-screen version of The Cat In The Hat is this mini-version of the film's Super Luxurious Omnidirectional Whatchamajigger (S.L.O.W.) vehicle.

RadioShack's shot at capitalizing on the craze associated with the big-screen version of The Cat In The Hat is this mini-version of the film's Super Luxurious Omnidirectional Whatchamajigger (S.L.O.W.) vehicle.

The remote-control car imitates the sounds and movements of the one in the movie. When directed forwards and backwards, the candy-striped cone on the vehicle's front spins, and the gears visibly rotate. Left or right motion, when the car is going in reverse, causes the flaps to move side to side, while red lights illuminate on the rear. There is also a button on the remote that honks the car's horn. The S.L.O.W. mobile is built with dual frequencies - 27 and 49MHz - so that friends or siblings can operate two different vehicles at the same time. (Devices like remote-control cars do not work near other devices with transmitters that operate on the same frequency.) The verdict: This well-priced, highly functional remote control car is a timely gift - either for the holidays or in conjunction with seeing the movie - for kids. Any questions?
