Schering-Plough hires Yancosek to run global comms

KENILWORTH, NJ: Schering-Plough has named Pfizer's former senior director of PR Rosemarie Yancosek as its new executive director, global communications.

KENILWORTH, NJ: Schering-Plough has named Pfizer's former senior director of PR Rosemarie Yancosek as its new executive director, global communications.

Prior to joining Pfizer, where she led PR during the integration of Pharmacia's business following the 2003 mega-merger, Yancosek served as senior director of PR and advocacy development at Pharmacia.

Last September, Schering recruited Jeff Winton, former VP of global PR for Pharmacia, to start a product communications group. The troubled pharma company has struggled immensely since its blockbuster allergy drug Claritin came off patent in 2002. Yancosek will report directly to Winton in her new role.

Schering said hiring Yancosek was "in line with the company's efforts to establish a new, integrated global communications group."
