Johnson takes over for Lacy at Ashland

COVINGTON, KY: Martha Johnson has become VP of communications and corporate affairs for Ashland, a transportation construction, chemicals, and energy company with annual revenues of more than $7 billion.

COVINGTON, KY: Martha Johnson has become VP of communications and corporate affairs for Ashland, a transportation construction, chemicals, and energy company with annual revenues of more than $7 billion.

Johnson will replace J. Dan Lacy, who is leaving after 28 years with the company, once known as Ashland Oil.

In her new role, Johnson will oversee internal and external communications, community relations, corporate philanthropy, and event coordination. She'll also sit on Ashland's operating committee.

Johnson joined the company in 1987 as supervisor of employee publications.

Lacy will become VP, institutional affairs with the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. He had been serving as a volunteer member of the college's business advisory board.

Lacy joined Ashland's PR staff in 1975, was named VP of corporate communications in 1986. He became VP of corporate affairs in 1998.
