ROUND ROCK, TX: Dell has selected OutCast Communications as agency of record for its enterprise product group.
Wendy Giever, senior manager of enterprise product PR, confirmed that OutCast will oversee PR in the US for the enterprise group, which includes services, hardware, and software alliances with companies such as Microsoft and Red Hat. Giever declined to provide any other details of the search process.
The search was a formal RFP that took about two months, said Margit Wennmachers, OutCast partner and cofounder. OutCast already works with some of Dell's partners, including Good Technology and VMware.
OutCast will start working with Dell this week, said Wennmachers. The San Francisco-based agency will first coordinate a media event focused on educating the press about the enterprise group.
Dell's enterprise group previously worked with Walt & Company. The agency declined to participate in the RFP.
"Dell faces tough competition against companies such as IBM and [Hewlett Packard]. We want to promote their model of selling directly to the customer, and show how Dell's enterprise products and services are just as high-performance and just as scalable as anybody else's," said Wennmachers.
