NEW YORK: This summer Ziff Davis Media will launch a new consumer tech magazine that focuses on the digital lifestyle.
Sync, which will publish four times this year, will be marketed to affluent males age 25 to 44. Its editorial approach will focus on the user, with the aim of helping readers get the most out of their gadgets. "We're trying to appeal to the tech user in all of us, especially people who buy digital products but don't use them to their full potential," said publisher Robert Lee.
The product reviews, added Lee, will be written from the perspective of an average user, in contrast to the lab-review approach many magazines take.
Lee said the title will cover products at a wide range of price points and that are widely available at consumer-electronics retailers rather than specialty shops. He added that he is close to naming an editor-in-chief of the publication.
