BANGALORE: Porter Novelli has entered into a partnership with two India-based PR firms as a way of expanding service offerings on the subcontinent.

In what the agency describes as a dual alliance, Delhi-based PR Pundit and Bangalore-based The PRractice will serve PN clients in the technology, consumer, corporate, and healthcare practices. PR Pundit is a generalist PR firm, and The PRactice has a technology focus.

Client demand drove a search for an Indian partnership that began last June. While the agency's tech clients are expected to benefit from the partnership, PN asserted that its non-tech clients that have needs in India will also be served.

"The Indian market is not the biggest market in the world, but we do have clients who have needs there, particularly in the tech fields," said Ada Parr, PN's global partnership director. "But we also have major consumer clients who need to tap into that large consumer market. That requires local expertise."
