IRVINE, CA: Jeff Richardson, senior corporate communications director at Allergan, has left the company after just six months on the job to form his own consultancy. His ex-employer has already signed on as his client.
Richardson said being at Allergan for only six months was his "plan from the beginning," and that he was hired to staff the communications department and hire an agency.
As a consultant, Richardson will concentrate mainly on Botox, Allergan's culturally iconic product.
Burson-Marsteller was the original agency appointed to handle Botox, but Chandler Chicco has since taken over the account.
Prior to working at Allergan, Richardson was director of global communications for Amgen.
