PLEASANTON, CA: DeeAnna McPherson, PeopleSoft's director of global PR, has left the enterprise software company to join Ogilvy PR Worldwide as an SVP and group director of the technology practice in both the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.

Filling her role at PeopleSoft is Alissa Bushnell, who previously ran her own PR firm, called Zimbida PR. Bushnell, who will report to VP of corporate communications Kara Wilson, has also worked for Network Associates, Porter Novelli, and Copithorne & Bellows.

As for McPherson, she fills a position that has been open since Clay Hausmann was promoted to MD of both the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices in September 2002. She will be the day-to-day lead on the Sun Microsystems account, Ogilvy's largest technology client. McPherson will report to Hausmann.

"I'm an agency person, and I wanted to get back to my agency roots," noted McPherson, who was at PeopleSoft for a year and a half, most recently dealing with the issues surrounding Oracle's hostile takeover bid of the company. Her previous PR agency experience includes stints at Golin/Harris International and Edelman.
