SAN FRANCISCO: Burson-Marsteller has hired Bob Finlayson as president and CEO of Northern California, overseeing the agency's Bay Area office.
Finlayson, who came from Edelman's Los Angeles office, where he worked on Microsoft's consumer business, will focus on developing Burson's image and profile in the Bay Area, as well as expanding its client portfolio.
"I found the people I talked to here were top notch," said Finlayson of one of the factors that convinced him to take the position. "And Burson's reputation was a huge factor. They've been around for 50 years and have a stellar reputation."
Finlayson, who also has worked at Blanc & Otus and Cunningham Communication, said he is looking forward to the opportunity to build Burson's reputation in the Bay Area.
Finlayson will report to both agency president and CEO Chris Komisarjevsky as well as global technology practice chairwoman Heidi Sinclair.
