NEW YORK: Time Warner CEO Dick Parsons has promoted Ed Adler to the role of EVP of corporate communications.

Adler will continue to act as the company's chief spokesman, as well as oversee the company's worldwide corporate communications strategy. He will also continue to head up the interaction and coordination of the company's various communications functions across its operating units.

"Ed has gained a unique perspective and deep understanding of our businesses and their communications needs," said Parsons in a release. He added that the promotion is a reflection of Adler's "enhanced" role with Time Warner's senior management.

Adler was previously SVP of corporate communications, a position he was appointed to in 2000.
