NEW YORK: The special-interest publisher Primedia has tapped JMPR to handle events and media relations for its Automotive Enthusiast Group and its stable of 53 magazines and online properties that include Hot Rod, Car Craft, European Car and Truckin'.

The yearlong contract will see the Woodland Hills, CA, firm handle Hot Rod magazine's Power Tour, Lowrider's Evolution Tour, and the Spring Break Tuner Bash, which involves a number of titles, including Import Tuner and Turbo.

"We'll be doing media relations and outreach for so many events," said founder and president Joseph Molina. "This will keep our people quite busy because the shows are all over the country."

In another recent account win, the 17-person firm also will help with media outreach for American Hot Rod, the Discovery Channel series that follows designer Boyd Coddington's creation of three next-generation hot rods from conceptualization to construction.

JMPR already does PR for Discovery's Monster Garage and American Chopper shows.
