SAN FRANCISCO: Less than a year after joining Ruder Finn, Harry Pforzheimer is planning to leave the agency. Pforzheimer joined as an EVP in June in the San Francisco office, Ruder Finn/Switzer. He had previously worked for Edelman as president of the Western region.
When Pforzheimer joined the agency, San Francisco office MD Jessica Switzer said Pforzheimer had "been around the block when it comes to growing great technology brands." But apparently there weren't enough brand building opportunities for Pforzheimer.
"I feel good about the contributions I made," he said. "I just think that my brain needs more exercise."
Pforzheimer said while there was a great amount of business development and pitches, the opportunity for executive-level consulting and communications strategy did not present itself often enough at Ruder.
Switzer said she did not intend to replace Pforzheimer.
As for his next move, Pforzheimer said he would consider opportunities at both corporations and agencies.
