ROUND ROCK, TX: Dell has shaken up its global communications team, moving its top two executives into unspecified roles.

Jess Blackburn, senior manager of corporate communications, confirmed that VP of corporate communications Elizabeth Allen and VP of communications Tim Doke have been reassigned to handle particular corporate communications initiatives. He declined to provide more information on their new roles or on what led to the change in leadership.

Dwayne Cox, director of communications for Dell's US consumer division, is now interim head of communications. Blackburn said the company is planning to conduct an external search for a new head of that function.

Allen and Doke are still employees of Dell, said Blackburn. The management changes shouldn't have any impact on agency relationships, he added. Dell works with GCI Group on corporate and consumer PR and OutCast Communications on enterprise PR.
