LOS ANGELES: Sitrick & Co. has been hired by cast members from The Simpsons to help them during an ongoing contract dispute with Fox. First reported in The New York Times, Sitrick's hiring was confirmed by the agency's head of entertainment, Allan Mayer. Mayer declined to give details of the work.
Currently, six members of the cast, who provide voices for dozens of characters on the highly successful animated series, are asking Fox for both a salary increase and profit- sharing.
Fox has been unwilling to meet the demands of the cast and their representatives. It has suspended talks and cut short this season of The Simpsons after production was delayed when the actors refused to work.
The actors involved in the negotiations are Hank Azaria (Apu, Mo), Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Nancy Cartwright (Bart), Julie Kavner (Marge), Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns), and Yeardley Smith (Lisa).
