SAN FRANCISCO: Charles Schwab has appointed Rebecca Saeger to the new position of EVP of brand management and marketing communications. Saeger, who was EVP of brand marketing at Visa USA, will report to EVP and CMO Jody Bilney.

Saeger will oversee all aspects of external marketing, including corporate communications, PR, and advertising.

"I want to make sure we are leveraging our brand for maximum impact in all of our communications and marketing efforts," said Saeger. "Everything we do needs to be from an integrated marketing perspective. The only way to do that is to have one place where everything comes together.

"We want to be crystal clear as to what Schwab is all about, and consistent from a communications standpoint," she added.

The company has a strong brand, and business is strong, as well, so the company created the position to take advantage "of having a lot of wind in our sails," said Saeger.
