Irvine, CA: BAX Global, a $2 billion global supply chain and transportation solutions provider, has named Marie Kroesen Connell to the newly-created position of manager, public relations.

Kroesen Connell's duties will include PR and media relations activities throughout the 133 countries in which the company operates. She will be the main media contact and will report to Raquel Garcia, the director of marketing communications and e-commerce.

Kroesen Connell was most recently in charge of creating the PR department for an Orange County-based St. Joseph Hospital, Orange. She has also held media relations positions at PacifiCare Health Systems, Pacific Life Insurance Company, and HomeBase.

Connell was chosen for her media outreach experience and her strategic view of PR, Garcia said.

The company has worked with external agencies before, but it wanted to have someone in-house to handle its PR affairs, she said. She would not disclose BAX's most recent AOR. Garcia previously served as the liaison between the outside agencies and BAX.

Garcia said that Kroesen Connell's initial focus would be on connecting with the media in both the supply trade publications and the business press for the industries the company serves, such as the retail, automobile, healthcare, and heavy manufacturing sectors.
