NEW YORK: In an effort to capitalize on a continuously growing Eastern European market, Porter Novelli said last week that it had formed a partnership with Noguchi Communications, a PR agency based in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

The partnership, called Noguchi Porter Novelli, will see both firms work together on PN's international consumer, corporate, technology, and healthcare practices.

Peter Szanto will serve as president and CEO of Noguchi Porter Novelli.

"Noguchi is the market leader in Hungary," said Kristen Ewing, marketing and PR manager for New York-based PN. "The caliber of the firm and the people involved are very impressive."

Founded in 1996, Noguchi's existing clients include Kraft Food, Hewlett-Packard, and Ericsson.

The partnership will help PN continue its expansion in Eastern Europe, Ewing explained. It also comes as Hungary's borders open up to more economic expansion following its May 1 entry into the European Union.

PN already has partners in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Russia, and Slovenia.

Porter Novelli is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Omnicom Group.
