Old Navy reviewing PR account

SAN FRANCISCO: Retailer Old Navy is in the midst of a PR agency review for its US account, after working with DeVries PR since 1999.

SAN FRANCISCO: Retailer Old Navy is in the midst of a PR agency review for its US account, after working with DeVries PR since 1999.

DeVries is participating in the review, according to Dan Orsborn, senior partner at Select Resources International. Orsborn runs the search firm's PR practice, and is managing Old Navy's search.

"Old Navy doesn't have any complaints about the work DeVries has done," Orsborn said. "DeVries did great work, but the nature of the account has changed," he said. "It's larger and more complex. So they want to look at other resource possibilities."

Orsborn declined to say which firms were part of the search, as well as the size of the account, only calling it "significant." The review should be finished by the end of September, he added.

Old Navy, a division of Gap Inc., opened its first store in 1994, and now has more than 800 stores.

Old Navy did not a return a call seeking comment.
