NASHVILLE: Partnership 2010, a division of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, has selected local PR firm McNeely Pigott & Fox to be its agency of record.
Brian Courtney, VP of communications for the Chamber of Commerce, noted that the region's economic-development arm wanted to begin emphasizing PR, and to move away from its previous focus on marketing and direct mail.
Courtney said the outreach also would be more national as it works to bring new businesses to the region.
Nashville-based PR agency Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence had been the chamber's agency of record since 1998.
But it was time to take a fresh look at PR, Courtney said.
"We thought it was a good time to see what else was out there and give other local agencies a chance to bid for the business," he said.
Nine firms competed for the account during a two-month agency review process.
Courtney declined to discuss the size of the account, except to note that Partnership 2010 is committed to putting more money on the PR side.
The Hispanic Marketing Group will collaborate on the account. "We're still trying to define what the Hispanic PR practice will be," Courtney said.
Partnership 2010 is named for the 10-county region that the initiative covers.
