Omnicom's PR, overall revenue jumps in second quarter

PR revenue increased from $235.4 million in the SQ 2003 to $263.1 million for the same period in 2004. Additionally, net income from PR increased 15% to $206.1 million from $180 million in the SQ 2003.

New York-based Omnicom's PR firms include Ketchum, Fleishman-Hillard, Brodeur Worldwide, Gavin Anderson, and Porter Novelli.

Omnicom's PR firms accounted for almost 11% of the company's revenue in the last three months ending June 30, according to a company statement. Worldwide total revenue increased 12% to $2.4 billion, and revenue from US operations was also up over the SQ 2003, from nearly $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion.

These increases signal a trend for Omnicom this year. The holding company also saw revenue and income increases for the FQ 2004, including in its PR operations.
