Dell has promoted Lynn Tyson from VP of IR to VP of IR and corporate communications. Bob Sherbin is now corporate communications VP at Gateway, formerly serving as director of corporate communications.

Tyson replaces VP of corporate communications Elizabeth Allen and VP of communications Tim Doke, who were reassigned to unspecified communications roles in April. Doke has since left Dell, joining Freescale Semiconductor as corporate communications VP.

Sherbin replaces Brad Shaw, who left in April to join Home Depot as its SVP of corporate communications and external affairs.

Tyson said she didn't expect a radical shift in Dell's current communications strategy, which she said was running well.

At Gateway, PR will be focused on managing several recent changes, including in its distribution model.
