DEERFIELD, FL: Alan Hopper, who previously served as director of public relations at Don King Productions, has returned to the boxing outfit, taking on the same title.
Hopper was at the company from 2000 to 2002. He left to oversee the opening of the $260 million Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, CA, where he served as public relations and entertainment manager.
"He did a wonderful job here, it was tough to see him go," says Greg Fitz, publicity director at Cache Creek.
Don King Productions did not hire a replacement for Hopper during his tenure at Cache Creek.
"Boxing is my calling," said Hopper. "It's great to be back in boxing were I belong."
Hopper will handle all PR with the company and serve as its spokesperson.
His first task will be promoting the October 2 pay-per-view bout from New York's Madison Square Garden between Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga.
