Publicis net income rises 23% for first half of 2004

PARIS: Publicis Groupe released its financial report for the first half of this year on Thursday, announcing positive increases in all major categories compared to the first half of last year.

PARIS: Publicis Groupe released its financial report for the first half of this year on Thursday, announcing positive increases in all major categories compared to the first half of last year.

Group net income rose 23% to $96 million, up from $78 million during the first half of 2003. Revenues stayed virtually unchanged at $2.2 billion. Diluted earnings per share (before goodwill amortization) came in at 77 cents, up 8.5% from 71 cents per share for last year's first six months. Publicis credited new business accounts with the higher earnings, but did not specifically release numbers for its PR division. Publicis' PR firms include MS&L, Publicis Dialog, Publicis Consultants, and Rowland Communications.
