ARLINGTON, VA: A major communications theme for US Airways as it enters Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection - for the second time in 18 months - is that the company is revamping to become a low-cost carrier.

The company's PR team, in conjunction with AOR Burson-Marsteller, is charged with promoting a new four-point business strategy called the "Transformation Plan."

http://www.transformingusairways.comTransformingusairways.com, a site dedicated solely to explaining the restructuring, has been created to reassure customers and suppliers that operations will continue as usual.

"Chapter 11 filings immediately trigger questions about a company's future," said Chris Chiames, SVP of corporate affairs. "It's our goal simply to address those questions and communicate what the goals of the restructuring are."

US Airways is the seventh-largest US air carrier.
