STAMFORD, CT: Waggener Edstrom is expanding its bioscience practice on the East Coast with a new SVP who will focus on the "DC, New York, and Boston corridor," according to Jenny Moede, bioscience practice leader.

"This is a new position that reflects the growth of the bioscience practice," she said. "We've really grown both in team size and client roster."

Kathy Lewton will hold the SVP position from the Stamford-based office, which covers the New York metro region. She was previously an SVP at Hill & Knowlton.

"All our clients are growing organically," Lewton said, adding that she wants to "build out from our base of pharmaceutical and diagnostics."

She noted that she hopes to expand the size and scope of the practice to include clients such as advocacy programs and health insurers.
