ANAHEIM, CA: Rob Doughty, formerly VP of strategic communications with Burger King, has become the VP of communications for Disneyland. Doughty has relocated from Miami to Southern California to take his new post. He'll report to Kristin Nolt, SVP of public affairs, for Disneyland.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA: Amgen, a biotechnology company, has appointed Arvind Sood VP of IR. Previously, Sood had SVP for IR and financial communications at Aventis.

SEATTLE: Washington Mutual has hired Alan Magleby as SVP of IR. Magleby was most recently SVP and deputy director of IR for JP Morgan Chase & Co.

TORONTO: Weber Shandwick has hired V?ronique Briant as SVP and GM for Toronto. Most recently, Briant served as European director for new business development at Golin Harris in London.

SPRINGFIELD, IL: The Illinois lottery has hired Danielle Ashley Communications, Chicago, to handle PR and media buying services in the African-American community and African-American media. The contract is through 2006 with options to renew through 2009. Total spending for the program over that period is $5.4 million. The agency plans to put four people on the account.

NEW YORK: GCI has appointed Vish Ganpati SVP and director of strategy and corporate development. Ganpati had been senior director of the corporate strategy and development group at Verizon Communications.

PORTLAND, OR: Matthew Van Vleet has been hired as VP at Fleishman-Hillard's Portland office. Most recently, he served as company spokesperson for Lowe's Companies, Inc., in North Carolina.

LOS ANGELES: MarketWire has selected Brodeur Worldwide as its agency of record. Brodeur will focus on raising awareness of MarketWire's brand and services, against larger competitors such as PRNewswire and BusinessWire.

GREATER BOSTON and CHICAGO: Tier One Partners has been selected as AOR for San Carlos, CA-based AuctionDrop, the first retail company dedicated to providing a convenient way for consumers to sell goods on eBay.

SAN DIEGO: Thousand Trails and Loreto Bay Company have retained Allison & Partners to launch regional branding and positioning campaigns.

DENVER, CO: JohnstonWells Public Relations has added Darby Doll as senior counselor, and Mark Helmkamp as counselor to its client services team. Most recently, Doll worked for Hong Kong-based Upstream Asia Media and Marketing. Helmkamp was the marketing and business development manager for Youthtrack, which provides treatment services for at-risk youths.

ALISO VIEJO, CA: Qlogic, a company that powers storage area networks, has named Gerald F. Ansel to the newly created post of corporate communications manager. Ansel will report to Frank Berry, the company's VP of worldwide marketing.

TORONTO: Micromem Technologies, a research and development company, has appointed New York-based Schwartz Public Relations Associates as its AOR.

MILWAUKEE: Host/Racine Industries, the maker of a dry-extraction carpet-cleaning system, has named Hoffman York as its PR AOR.

WALTHAM, MA: Unica has selected Greenough Communications as its PR agency of record. The company develops enterprise marketing management software and services.

AUSTIN, TX: Voice-over internet protocol company Voxpath has chosen FitzGerald Communications to help position the company. FitzGerald will develop analyst and media relations initiatives, along with thought leadership campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the company and its products.

BURLINGTON, MA: XOsoft has retained Ruder Finn as its PR agency of record. XOsoft develops disaster recovery and business continuity software. Ruder Finn's New York office will lead the account, focusing on corporate positioning, media and analyst relations, product launches, and event support.

WAKEFIELD, MA: RuleStream has selected Topaz Partners as its corporate PR agency of record. Topaz will focus on media outreach, message development and market positioning for RuleStream, which develops software to automate build-to-order processes.

WASHINGTON: The Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC), a non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of disability and absence management, has retained Principor Communications, to help raise awareness of its mission and increase membership. DMEC is Principor's first association client.

SAN FRANCISCO: Citigate Cunningham is offering its services pro bono for the Craigslist Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps emerging nonprofit groups establish themselves and gain visibility. The Craigslist Foundation is one of several new clients for Citigate Cunningham, including Counterpane, Virtual Iris, ThinkGeek, and Saratoga Systems.

DULUTH, GA: N2 Broadband has chosen Bite Communications as its PR agency of record. N2 develops open platform technology for on-demand entertainment services, such as video-on-demand.
