COLUMBUS, OH: PR agency Paul Werth Associates has acquired The Haunty Agency, a branding and advertising firm also located in Columbus. Terms were not disclosed.

Haunty's three staffers have moved into Paul Werth offices and the agency will now be called The Haunty Agency, a Paul Werth Associates Company.

Jack Haunty will remain president of his agency and has become an SVP at Werth.

"His brand is very well established here and we didn't want to lose that," said Sandra Harbrecht, president of Werth.

The Werth agency had been considering expanding into branding and advertising because clients were increasingly asking for such services, Harbrecht explained.

"We felt that by bringing those services in-house we could provide a higher quality, a more consistent level of service," Harbrecht said.

Paul Werth Associates, now with 20 employees, recorded $2.5 million in revenues last year and expects to reach $3 million this year with the addition of Haunty, said Harbrecht.

The agencies had no client overlap prior to the acquisition but already have begun picking up business form each other's clients since the deal was finalized last month, she said.
