TOY BOX: TV lovers must take a look at TracVision

How much do you love television?

How much do you love television?

More to the point, how much do you like having people in the back of your SUV or van watching television? If the answer is a lot - and what parent doesn't want to keep the kids busy on a long road trip - then check out the TracVision A5 satellite TV antenna/ receiver from KVH Industries. This sleek black device attaches to a roof rack and feeds DirecTV signals to a monitor in your vehicle. The demo unit just blew me away. (I unsuccessfully tried getting the company to install one on my RAV4.) The reception was great on the 10.2-inch demo screen. The demo unit was also equipped with a DVD player and PlayStation, meaning people could have more fun in the back of that SUV than in many homes. If you have a DirecTV subscription for your home or office, adding the car is only $4.99 a month. If you do not have DirecTV, the car subscription is $39.99 a month.
