NEW YORK: OutCast Communications has opened its second office, in New York, and has hired Rob Cronin as a partner to oversee it. Cronin is the first new partner at the San Francisco-based tech firm since its 1997 launch.
OutCast opened the new outpost to manage its work for EMC, which named OutCast its US AOR in July.
Cronin joins from Weber Shandwick, where he was SVP and oversaw the New York tech practice. Prior to WS, Cronin was an SVP with TSI Communications, leading the IBM account.
"It's hard to find a senior person who is that passionate about the art of PR" as Cronin, noted OutCast partner and co-founder Caryn Marooney.
While the New York arm will predominantly serve EMC, it will also provide other clients, including Dell and TiVo, with greater access to East Coast media and financial analysts.
