DRAPER, UT: Ray Spotts, a tycoon in the field of "multilevel marketing" (often less generously called "pyramid schemes") has retained PR help in his quest to win millions against a former employer, Neways.

Utah-based Politis Communications will help Spotts "up the ante" in his breach-of-contract suit against Neways, also a "multi-level marketing" enterprise. According to the suit, Spotts is entitled to commissions from Neways on sales that he made after joining the company.

"It could be a very high-profile case," said president David Politis, who is focusing media outreach on Utah and Japan, where both parties made most of their money. "They cut him off. ... He believes that it's important his story be told."

Politis said that three to four people at his firm were working on Spotts' account, and that he was serving as point man and providing strategic counsel.
