SAN JOSE, CA: Claudia Ceniceros, Cisco Systems' senior director of corporate PR, is moving into a newly created, non-PR job at the $19.8 billion networking technology firm.

Ceniceros will serve as senior director of media and content strategy in Cisco's corporate development group, said Penny Bruce, senior manager of corporate PR. Ceniceros was not available for comment.

In her new post, Ceniceros will act as a liaison to the media and entertainment industries. As senior director of corporate PR, Ceniceros oversaw communications for business strategy, financial disclosure, corporate reputation, and senior executives.

"Cisco recognizes that content companies will drive new business and consumer applications on the internet that will accelerate true convergence," said Bruce. "Claudia will be responsible for building relationships and partnerships with companies in this space."

Ceniceros will continue to report to Daniel Scheinman, SVP of corporate development. Scheinman will oversee corporate PR while the firm looks for Ceniceros' replacement. Bruce added that the company would be using a recruiter.

Ceniceros has led Cisco's corporate PR team for the past four years, most recently overseeing the selection of Weber Shandwick as Cisco's US agency of record.
