PRWeek appoints DC chief Quenqua to news editor job

NEW YORK: PRWeek's Washington, DC, bureau chief, Douglas Quenqua, has been promoted to the role of news editor for the magazine. Quenqua has relocated to New York, and his replacement has not yet been named.

NEW YORK: PRWeek's Washington, DC, bureau chief, Douglas Quenqua, has been promoted to the role of news editor for the magazine. Quenqua has relocated to New York, and his replacement has not yet been named.

Quenqua had been the DC bureau chief for four years. A graduate of Adelphi University, he has previously freelanced with such publications as Travel & Leisure, InStyle, and Business Travel News.

"Doug is a first-rate journalist and writer with great news judgment and a competitive spirit," said editor-in-chief Julia Hood. "His authority and experience make him the obvious choice for the job."

Other recent PRWeek hires include Erica Iacono, media reporter. Iacono joined PRWeek from Printing News, a weekly regional trade magazine. She has also freelanced for Billboard and worked as an assistant editor at Parentguide News magazine in New York City.

Hamilton Nolan, PRWeek's new corporate and financial reporter, attended Howard University and graduated from Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. He previously worked at Folio Weekly, an alt-weekly in Jacksonville, FL.
