Lisbon agency Gabinete de Imprensa has joined forces with SPMJ in Sao Paulo, in a profit sharing agreement for business on both sides of the Atlantic.
Portuguese investment in Brazil, Latin America's biggest market, has picked up steam, and increasing numbers of Brazilian companies are looking to expand in Portugal, according to Claudia Bravo, a director at Gabinete. ?We have many local clients who are interested in Brazil and many Brazilian clients who want to enter Portugal,' she said. ?We want to provide the best services and visibility for them.?
Potential clients include Epson Printers and Abbott Laboratories, she added.
Gabinete and SPMJ will offer the full range of communications including media relations, corporate, investor relations and events.
Bravo will manage the Portuguese side of the venture alongside Maria Jose Arrojo and Sergio Poroger, SPMJ?s managing directors based in Sao Paulo. Bravo would not say how many employees the venture will have.
Gabinete has 12 clients including Portuguese airport retailer Lojas Francas. SPMJ accounts include Abbott, Levis, Playboy TV, and Palm.
