WASHINGTON: The United Way of America has sent an RFP to 15 firms in a review of its $300,000 AOR business. The non-profit leadership organization currently retains Ogilvy PR, which is participating in the review.

The review was confirmed by Sheila Consaul, who joined United Way last week as director of media and PR. Consaul said that Ogilvy was on an annual contract, and that the review was prompted in part by the new leadership at the organization, including David Albritton, who was recently hired as VP of field and media communications.

"It's a good time for us to look and see what our needs are and where we want to go," she said.

Consaul said that non-profit and crisis experience was required from its AOR. The United Way is seeking a firm able to handle work on a national level, but with its primary account team based in the Washington, DC area.

"We want to be able to meet with them face-to-face on a regular basis," she said.
