NEW YORK: The City University of New York (CUNY) has named publicity guru Howard Rubenstein head of the advisory board for its Graduate School of Journalism, slated to open in about a year.

Rubenstein, who said that he has represented CUNY as a client for more than 25 years, will be joined on the advisory board by Time editor-in-chief Norman Pearlstine, ABC News President David Westin, and local CBS broadcast anchor Roz Abrams.

The board's duties include developing curriculum, recruiting professors, and serving as consultants to the administration.

Rubenstein said that the school would probably not have a PR curriculum when it opens, but added, "Very serious discussions are going on to have some type of [PR] courses" in the future.

CUNY representatives did not return a call seeking comment before press time.
