NEW YORK: PR Newswire (PRN) has added 10,000 news outlets to its monitoring service, eWatch, as a result of a partnership with Dialog, a Thomson company.

The Dialog newsroom will be incorporated into a new category of eWatch, called Print Pubs. It includes wire services; global daily newspapers; trade, business, and scholastic journals; and industry newsletters.

The eWatch product previously incorporated information from web publications, discussion boards, UseNet groups, and e-mail discussion groups.

Nancy Sells, VP of media intelligence products for PRN, said the decision was made in response to customer requests for print sources.

"We kept hearing it more frequently," she said. "PR people want it all."

Sells added that the additions to the service are part of PRN's overall strategy to offer diversified services.

"It's really supporting the core wire business by providing customers with additional things that they need to do - and doing it in one location, so it'll be easier for them," she said.
