NEW YORK: Larry Thomas has been named president of MultiVu, the broadcast PR and multimedia division of PR Newswire. Tim Bahr, president since 2002, will step down to take the position of executive director.

Thomas previously served as SVP of sales and operations for MultiVu and was part of the original team that founded PR Newswire's broadcast and multimedia service in 1998. He later helped to re-launch the service as MultiVu in 2002.

Thomas said the shift in management is part of MultiVu's overall strategic plan, especially with the company's three-year anniversary coming up.

"All along we knew that if we wanted to continue to grow and accomplish what we we're trying to accomplish, there would need to be overall structural changes," Thomas said. "Having Tim's experience during those first three years was crucial and still is crucial. This frees Tim up to help us in other areas such as product enhancement and overall development of services."
