WASHINGTON: Hadassah Lieberman, the wife of former presidential candidate Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT), has joined Hill & Knowlton's healthcare practice as a senior counselor.

Lieberman is not new to PR, having worked at Pfizer as director of policy, planning, and communication, and at APCO Worldwide.

H&K also has added Jeffrey Levine, a former reporter at CNN and WebMD, as SVP of healthcare media relations. He joins from the American Institutes for Research, where he was health communications director.

Anna McCollister-Slipp will lead the practice. She joins from MS&L and replaces Reyn Archer, who will fill the newly created role of US health policy director.

New staff and a larger client roster are "a recognition that Washington is playing a more significant role in the healthcare arena," McCollister-Slipp said, adding that H&K plans to focus on core areas of expertise like chronic diseases, women's health, and public health.
