WASHINGTON: Naomi Greer has joined The Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA) as communications director. Prior to GMA, she was communications director at the American Gaming Association, the trade group representing the commercial casino industry.

WHITE PLAINS, NY: Michele Kling has been named director of media relations for the March of Dimes, where she will head a team responsible for the organization's national media relations and PR, recruitment of celebrity volunteers, and the National Ambassador program. Kling joined the March of Dimes in 1991, and has previously served as senior health and science press officer, and as manager of newspaper media relations.

LOS ANGELES: Compact Power Systems, makers of Cellboost, a portable power solution for mobile electronics devices, has named Fleishman-Hillard its AOR. The firm will assist Compact's growth and market expansion.

DENVER: Schenkein has added Arapahoe House, Colorado's largest nonprofit provider of prevention and treatment services for alcohol- and drug-abuse problems, to its list of clients. Schenkein will promote awareness of the organization and its treatment programs by providing media relations and overall PR support.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL: Jacuzzi Brands has picked Burson-Marsteller as its global AOR. Various Y&R agencies will develop globally integrated, cross-practice initiatives to build market and product awareness for Jacuzzi's bath and spa products. Burson's San Francisco office will lead the communications efforts.

SAN FRANCISCO: The Transbay Joint Powers Authority has awarded Singer Associates a 3-year, $450,000 contract to promote the forthcoming $2.4 billion transportation hub in the heart of San Francisco's business district. The authority is a collaboration between Bay Area governments and transportation agencies to build a new transportation hub serving six Bay Area counties by bringing together eight different transit systems.

WALTHAM, MA: Racepoint Group has added three tech clients: Emic Networks, which provides open source application development tools; mobile messaging company OZ Communications; and enterprise security software firm TriSixty Security.

DALLAS: Voice-over-internet protocol telephony company WQN has hired Shelton for IR counsel and to build broader investor-community awareness of WQN.

BOSTON: The Snip-its Corporation, which provides complete hair-care services and sells a full line of private label hair-care products specially formulated for kids, has retained Conventures to manage PR and marketing.

SAN JOSE, CA: Ebay has promoted VP of corporate communications Henry Gomez to SVP of corporate communications and government relations. In addition to taking on government relations, Gomez is also now a member of eBay's executive staff.

McLEAN, VA: The SheaHedges Group has added two clients: storage management software firm Veritas, and Transaction Network Services, which provides communications services for transaction-oriented applications.
