Gap promotes Jill Nash to comms VP

SAN FRANCISCO: Gap, Inc. has named Jill Nash as its new VP of corporate communications. Nash, who was promoted from VP of employee communications, replaces Alan Marks, who left the company in February to join Nike as corporate media relations director.

SAN FRANCISCO: Gap, Inc. has named Jill Nash as its new VP of corporate communications. Nash, who was promoted from VP of employee communications, replaces Alan Marks, who left the company in February to join Nike as corporate media relations director.

"This is an exciting year for Gap ? as we pursue a balanced approach to growth and continue to focus on corporate social responsibility," said Nash, in an e-mail. "Communications will play a crucial role as we connect with various stakeholders."

One of the Gap's largest endeavors this year will be the launch of a new brand aimed at women over age 35. The initial launch will include 10 stores.

Nash will report to Anne Gust, EVP and chief administrative officer, and Eva Sage-Gavin, EVP of human resources.

Prior to joining the Gap in 2003, Nash worked at Charles Schwab, overseeing reputation management and employee communications. She has also worked for KPMG and the Transamerica Life Companies.
