NEW YORK: As part of an ongoing restructuring of its PR operations, Rainbow Media Holdings has consolidated entertainment PR across its brands.

Matt Frankel takes the role of corporate communications VP and will oversee business press and trade relations for Rainbow and each of its entertainment divisions. Rainbow's networks include AMC, IFC, and WE: Women's Entertainment.

Previously, Frankel led communications for the IFC brand.

The new structure is meant to help Rainbow brands leverage their combined clout, rather than competing against one another, as is sometimes the case with siloed PR functions, said Frankel.

"The most important thing about the infrastructure is that it really provides each of the brands and Rainbow with the assurance that we are going to be strategic and efficient with our communications moving forward," he said.

One of Frankel's first projects will be working with DC-based Glover Park Group to raise awareness of a joint venture between AMC and ABC News on a series of documentaries about entertainment.

Earlier this year, Rainbow decided to have all PR heads report to a central SVP rather than their division heads.
