PubSub switches agencies after six months

NEW YORK: Internet search engine PubSub has switched agencies from CooperKatz to PAN Communications after six months.

NEW YORK: Internet search engine PubSub has switched agencies from CooperKatz to PAN Communications after six months.

CooperKatz won the PubSub account in September, after the company met Steve Rubel, VP of client services, at a conference. At the time, a PubSub executive cited the work of Steve Rubel, VP of client services and an influential blogger, as a primary reason behind the hire.

Richard Treadway, PubSub's new head of marketing, said the decision to switch agencies was his. "I know the PAN folks very well and am familiar with those guys," Treadway said. "I felt it's what PubSub needed."

Treadway said that he could not comment on the company's contract with CooperKatz, but said it was an "orderly transition" and that everyone is happy with the arrangement. He commended CooperKatz on its work, saying the former agency helped with the transition.

Joel Richmond, senior account manager for PAN, declined to comment. Anne Green, SVP of client services for CooperKatz, agreed with Treadway's assessment.

"He had worked with PAN in past lives and wanted to continue that," Green said. "The parting was amicable."
