EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ: MWW Group CEO Michael Kempner has assumed duties as CEO of the Financial Relations Board (FRB), Interpublic Group's specialized IR agency. FRB is also positioned as the IR partner of Weber Shandwick.
Donni Case, the FRB's former president, left the firm in April. A knowledgeable source said her departure occurred because IPG leadership felt "it was time for a change" in management.
Kempner said he assumed the lead role at FRB as CEO in March. He emphasized that MWW and FRB "will remain separate and distinct."
He added that FRB's senior management, except Case, will all remain in place Kempner hopes to leverage the FRB brand more aggressively, he said, and increase the firm's marketing efforts. The move will have "no impact on Weber Shandwick, no impact on MWW," he said.
Weber Shandwick CEO Harris Diamond said WS will "continue to use [FRB] just as we had in the past."
Diamond declined comment on the reason for the change.
